IRWIN KAUFMAN CPA
Managing Partner 

Irwin Kaufman has been a Certified Public Accountant since 1977. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. His business and tax experience includes closely-held businesses, such as: retail, real-estate, construction wholesale, manufacturing, and service related industries. He assists his clients in various capacities ranging from Financial Statements and Budget preparations to Payroll and Sales Tax compliance. Mr. Kaufman has a hands-on approach to all of his clients personally supervising all of their financial requirements. In short, he serves as “controller” of his clients’ companies. Before starting his own firm in 1980, he was employed by Brout and Company, CPAs. He received wide-ranging experience in dealing with mid-size companies with sales ranging from two-million to twenty-million dollars. Prior to that, Mr. Kaufman was a Supervising Accountant with the firm of Loeb and Troper, CPAs. He received extensive experience in audits of hospitals, nursing homes and other not-for-profit entities. Mr. Kaufman was responsible for auditing the “Uniform Cost Report” and devising appropriate audit programs. (See Industry Focus page for a sampling of our not-for-profit clientele)

Irwin has extensive experience in auditing and accounting for programs funded by the City of New York – Human Resources Administration, Administration for Children’s Services, Department for the Aging, Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, Foster Care, Scattered Site Housing, Home Attendant and Housekeeping Programs.

JEFFREY KAUFMAN CPA
Senior Manager

Jeffrey joined the firm in January of 2015 and has quickly taken on a leadership role. His goal is to deliver personalized service to help his clients attain their financial goals. Jeffrey graduated Magna Cum Laude from  Touro College with a Bachelors of Science in Accounting and successfully passed the CPA exam shortly thereafter. He has worked in public accounting for over 8 years in a variety of industries primarily in real estate, and not-for-profit. His extensive experience in real estate has helped him successfully structure tax-free exchanges and develop other tax-deferred strategies. His clients include many different real estate companies with properties including multi-family residential and commercial properties both in and out of New York. He currently works on our real estate and high net worth individual clients. He is experienced in many software programs including QuickBooks, Yardi, MDS and, MAS90.

Jeffrey recently help set up the organizational structure of a $236 million, 15 property portfolio purchased by multiple owners with 1031 exchange proceeds. The structure involved multiple TIC owners and replacement needs for over 10 exchange entities. His responsibilities included setting up the capital structure and portfolio budget.

Jeffrey is a member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. 

ISAAC TWERSKI
Computer Consultant

Isaac Twerski is a graduate of the Poly-Technical Institute of New York with a degree in Chemical Engineering. He is a Computer Programmer with over sixteen years of computer consulting experience. He specializes in designing and maintaining Databases, spreadsheets, templates and bar coding for small and medium-size companies.

Isaac has had a technically diverse career working with such companies as: Pfizer Corp., Deloitte and Touche CPAs, and Goldman Sachs Corporation, among others. His expertise includes: Computer hardware and software design, maintenance and support such as: Microsoft Windows NT, XP/2000/98/95, all versions of Office for Windows, Access, Excel, Word, and Financial Software (QuickBooks).

As the chief of our Technological Team, Mr. Twerski will advise the client as to the hardware and software that would best suit their company. He will set up, install the necessary products and provide training and technical support.

DEBORAH KAUFMAN
Executive Assistant

Deborah Kaufman has been working for our firm since its inception. Her responsibilities are varied as is her expertise. She is a Licensed Microsoft Office Specialist with extensive experience in QuickBooks as well. Aside from the usual Office Managerial duties, Deborah is in charge of maintaining the client files and assuring that the appropriate paperwork is completed.

Deborah is well-versed in all facets of the accounting field. She has handled the timely filings of Payroll, Sales, and Corporation returns. She is a trained Income Tax Preparer and has helped many of our clients with their personal filings.

Deborah is an integral part of our staff. She makes sure that the daily running of our office is smooth and efficient.
